Most Valuable Used Commercial Electric Vehicles for Businesses | 2025 Study

While President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” cuts US electric vehicle support, global EV adoption continues accelerating, with European commercial buyers discovering significant savings in the used market. A new study by car auction platform eCarsTrade analyzed the European commercial EV market to identify which used models deliver the strongest value for businesses transitioning to electric fleets.

The research evaluated vehicles using seven metrics: annual sales volumes, new vehicle pricing, used market values, Google search interest levels, driving range capabilities, and battery capacity. Each vehicle received a score from 0-100 based on price, performance, and popularity.

Here’s a look at the top 10 used commercial EVs worth buying:

Renault Express ZE ranks first as Europe’s most valuable used commercial EV. This compact van is priced at just €9K used compared to €21K new, representing a great value for secondary market buyers. With 33K annual European sales and strong interest rates on the Internet, the Express ZE demonstrates proven market acceptance. Its 170km range and 22kWh battery also provide a decent capability for urban delivery operations.

Vauxhall Vivaro Electric secures second place by offering premium features at accessible pricing. The mid-size van costs €23K in used markets while the new one has a €49K price tag. Recording 18K annual sales across Europe, the Vivaro Electric can cover 313km with a 75kWh battery.

Peugeot e-Partner takes third position. Priced at €19K used versus €51K new, the e-Partner provides the highest 63% savings over new purchases. Peugeot sells about 17K e-Partners every year. The van can provide 342km range from a 52kWh battery, which is around 30km more than the average range of all studied cars.

Fiat e-Ducato ranks fourth, combining large vehicle capabilities and an affordable price. This spacious commercial vehicle costs €30K used compared to €51K new. With over 3K annual European sales, the e-Ducato stands out with a 430km range and a massive 110kWh battery. With this, e-Ducator provides one of the best driving ranges on the secondary market.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz holds fifth place as a premium option. Businesses can purchase this van for €57K on the secondary market, while the new model costs €67K. The ID. Buzz shows massive consumer interest, with millions searching for the car online. The interest also translates to strong 27,600 annual sales. The ID. Buzz shows the longest 470km distance per charge with a 79kWh battery.

Citroën ë-Berlingo captures sixth position through balanced pricing. Available for €27K used versus €37K new, the ë-Berlingo offers potential 26% savings for buyers. Citroën registers 10K annual ë-Berlingo sales with high interest from consumers. The model provides 342km range from a 50kWh battery – matching the Peugeot e-Partner’s distance capabilities.

Mercedes-Benz eVito takes seventh place. This luxury brand is available at lower prices, with used options costing €29K used compared to €63K new ones, providing 54% savings opportunities. Mercedes sells 13K eVitos every year. The eVito can drive 311km on one charge with a 60kWh battery – close to the EV market average.

Ford E-Transit ranks eighth as the only American option in the top rankings. Priced at €35K used against €56K new, the E-Transit shows great value for buyers. Ford E-Transit registers almost 5K annual sales, while also showing significant online popularity. The car has a 350km driving range from a 67kWh battery.

Renault Trafic ZE lands in ninth position, having an established reputation among business consumers. The used Trafic ZEs are priced at €46K, while brand new ones cost €54K. Renault sells 625 of these units. This electric car offers a 240km driving range and a 55kWh battery.

Mercedes-Benz eSprinter completes the top 10. This sizable van costs €56K used compared to €68K new, showing a reasonable 18% saving opportunity for buyers looking for premium options on the secondary market. With 7,000 annual sales, the eSprinter demonstrates strong market interest, being searched on the Internet more than 1M times. The car has a 241km range from an 81kWh battery.

“The price drops in the secondary EV market create real opportunities for businesses looking to save on fleet costs,” says the eCarsTrade spokesperson. “Some vehicles lose half their value quickly, which is great news for anyone buying used. What’s surprising is that expensive doesn’t always mean better value – we found affordable models sometimes outperform luxury brands in practical use. The biggest savings come from choosing the right model at the right time, with smart businesses potentially saving tens of thousands compared to buying new vehicles.”
